Suspected Serial Killer Nabbed In Ikorodu
Policemen attached to the Sagamu Road Division, Ikorodu, have arrested Segun Agodo for alleged cultism and murder.
Agodo, said to be a senior member of the Eiye cult group, was arrested about 10am on Sunday at Odongunyan by policemen on surveillance patrol.
Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi said Agodo had been on the run for a while and was fingered in many murder cases, including the murder of a policeman in Ikorodu.
Adejobi said the suspect was arrested with two locally-made revolver pistols, each loaded with seven and 14 rounds of cartridges, an axe, cutlasses and assorted charms.
He added that operatives of the command attached to Alakuko Division on Friday morning arrested Sola Akinwole (27) while a robbery gang operated at a car/motorcycles shop at AMJE Bus Stop.
Adejobi said: “The detectives raced to the scene while responding to a distress call from the shop. The suspected robbers had shot one of the guards – Tairu Baba (20) before the police arrived the scene. One locally-made pistol and four cartridges were recovered from the suspect.
“Police operatives attached to Festac Division on April 3, about 3pm, arrested one Jonas Nnubia (43) for defiling his wife’s niece at 1st Avenue, L Close, Festac, Lagos.
“The victim, who was taken to the police station in company of officials of the Child Protection Network (CPN), said the suspect had been having carnal knowledge of her before now and warned her against telling anyone else she dies.
“The victim has been taken to the hospital for necessary medical examination and attention in to help the police carry out a discreet investigation.
“The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for proper investigation and possible prosecution.”
